Overview

The Research Vessel Sally Ride is an Ocean Class Auxiliary General Oceanographic Research (AGOR) vessel owned by the United States Navy and operated by the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. The Sally Ride is designed with a large laboratory space and heavy machinery to deploy other platforms such as buoys, making it ideal for multidisciplinary oceanographic research. Typical research voyages are supported by up to 45 total staff and crew, can last up to 40 days, and can cover up to 10,500 nautical miles.
